TEXARKANA, TX — A 36-year-old man who was held at gunpoint and shot multiple times during an armed robbery at a Texarkana apartment complex fired back and hit one of the two suspects, according to the Texarkana, Texas, Police Department.

Detectives have obtained aggravated robbery warrants for Ladaidrian Jackson, 18, and Roberlynsti McHenry, 17, as reported by Texarkana Today. McHenry is hospitalized in critical condition. Jackson is still wanted.

Officers were called to the back of River Crossing Apartments in the 1000 block of College Drive a little before 2 a.m. on a report that someone had been shot. The caller reported two people wearing ski masks, according to emergency radio traffic.

Shortly afterward, police got word of another shooting victim in the area of Summerhill Road and West 40th Street. A few minutes later, officers found that person in the CVS parking lot on North State Line Avenue. Detectives later determined both had been shot during the same incident at the apartment complex.

According to police, Jackson and McHenry held the 36-year-old at gunpoint during a robbery at the complex. Jackson then shot him multiple times. The man fired back. His shots hit McHenry.

He had already taken multiple rounds when he returned fire. Being shot does not automatically end a fight, for the attacker or for the person defending himself. Whether you keep fighting while you are hurt is mostly decided before the encounter ever starts, and that comes down to mindset far more than gear. If you carry, train for that moment. Practice drawing and shooting with one hand, and decide now that a wound does not mean you stop.

More from USA Carry:

The 36-year-old and McHenry were both taken to CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System and then airlifted to hospitals in Little Rock. Police said McHenry will be arrested on his warrant when he is released from the hospital. In their latest update, police had not provided the condition of the man who was robbed or released his name.

The warrants are allegations, and neither Jackson nor McHenry has been convicted. Police have not announced any charges against the 36-year-old. Anyone who knows where Jackson is can call 911, Texarkana Area Crime Stoppers at 903-793-STOP (7867), or submit a tip at www.p3tips.com.
