We recently covered the Canadian military's adoption of a new carbine, the CMAR. That announcement was shortly followed by word that a Colt scope would round out the package: the CMAR 1-6. Colt's new line of civilian optics has now been released, so we can take a look at what they have to offer.

There are three scope models in this new lineup, ranging from LPVOs up to high magnification options. All three of these initial models include 34mm main tubes and Schott glass. These scopes are also rated to survive up to .338 Lapua recoil.
First up is the VMR 1-8x28. This low power variable optic (LPVO) includes two reticle options, a
“CQB-oriented” MOA reticle or a precision MRAD reticle. It measures 10.9 inches in length and weighs 25.5 ounces. The MSRP is $1759.
