Following a comprehensive and extensive investigation, the Shelby County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) has determined that an early morning shooting inside a Cordova residence on Monday, June 15, 2026, was a justified act of self-defense. Detectives confirmed that no criminal charges will be filed against the resident who was initially detained at the scene, and the wounded individual's medical status has been officially upgraded to non-critical status at Regional One Health.
