CZ Retires the 75 B, 75 BD and 75 Compact in 2026

Three of the longest-running pistols in the CZ 75 family are headed out of production. CZ has confirmed that the CZ 75 B, CZ 75 BD and CZ 75 Compact will end production in 2026, closing out models that have anchored the company’s handgun catalog for decades.

For anyone who has carried or competed with the platform, this is a real shift. All three pistols helped push one of CZ’s most recognizable designs through multiple generations. The company was clear on one point, though: the CZ 75 line itself is staying.

What’s Leaving the Lineup

The three outgoing pistols each filled a distinct role in the catalog. The CZ 75 B carried the platform with a traditional manual safety. The CZ 75 BD gave shooters a decocker-equipped alternative. The CZ 75 Compact packed the same basic design into a smaller frame.

Shooters have gravitated to these guns for their all-metal construction, distinctive ergonomics, balance and proven design—traits that kept them fixtures in the CZ catalog long after polymer-framed competitors took over much of the market.

CZ did not provide a specific final production date, and it hasn’t said how long remaining inventory will stay on dealer shelves. Buyers who want a factory-fresh example will need to move on what’s still in the pipeline.

CZ’s Statement on the Retirement

“Few firearms are as closely connected to the identity of CZ as the CZ 75,” said Chris Sprangers, director of marketing for CZ-USA. Sprangers noted the platform introduced generations of shooters to the company’s approach to engineering and handgun design.

“As their production comes to a close, we are proud to honor the role they have played in both our history and the experiences of CZ owners around the world,” he added.

The CZ 75 Name Isn’t Going Anywhere

The announcement does not end the broader CZ 75 lineup. CZ confirmed that several familiar variants will stay in production, including the CZ 75 SP-01, CZ 75 SP-01 Tactical, CZ 75 P-01 and CZ 75 D PCR.

Those models continue carrying the CZ 75 name and its design lineage. The original platform has been part of CZ’s identity for more than five decades, and its distinctive slide profile, metal frame and shooting characteristics built the worldwide following the brand still enjoys.

What This Means for Buyers and Collectors

For shooters who have had a 75 B, 75 BD or Compact on their list, the practical takeaway is timing. With no announced cutoff date and no guidance on how long remaining stock will last, availability is the variable to watch. The retirement will likely send fans searching dealer shelves for remaining examples. It may also turn existing pistols into increasingly desirable pieces for CZ collectors.

CZ framed the change as a transition rather than an ending. The CZ 75 B, CZ 75 BD and CZ 75 Compact are on their way out, but the family they helped establish stays put—and the SP-01, P-01, D PCR and SP-01 Tactical will keep the platform’s core intact for shooters who want in.
