Excalibur Suppressor CRT Joins the Micro Series Recurve Lineup

By Sam.S •

Recurve crossbows keep a loyal following for reasons that have nothing to do with speed charts. You can change a string in the field without a bow press, and there’s less to break. Excalibur’s newest Micro Series bow leans on that and adds a noise reduction package on top.

The Suppressor CRT runs Excalibur’s Sound Deadening System+, which includes LimbSaver SlipLox to kill noise and vibration at the shot. That matters more on a recurve than most shooters admit, since a loud bow at 30 yards gives a whitetail time to react.

Suppressor CRT Package Contents:

  • Bow: Micro Series recurve with High-Output limbs, 100% continuous fiber construction
  • Noise Control: Sound Deadening System+ kit with LimbSaver SlipLox and R.E.D.S. Suppressors
  • Optic: TACT Hunter Scope on a full-length scope mount
  • Quiver: Rebolt 4-arrow
  • Arrows: Four ProFlight 6.5 with 100-grain field points
  • Cocking Aid: CeaseFire rope cocking aid
  • Safety: CeaseFire dry-fire prevention
  • Finish: Mossy Oak Break-Up Country
  • SKU: E16422
  • MSRP: $1,199.99

CeaseFire is the piece that separates Excalibur from most of the field. The bow won’t fire unless an arrow is loaded, the safety is off, and the trigger is pulled. Working with Excalibur’s Rhino nock, it gives an audible click when the arrow seats so you know you’re loaded without looking down.

The full-length scope rail is a functional upgrade rather than a cosmetic one. Front and rear support stiffens the mounting platform and opens up which optics you can run, instead of limiting you to whatever fits a short section of rail.

Beth Shimanski, VP of Marketing at Excalibur, called it one of the quietest recurve crossbows the company has offered. The compact Micro frame is the other half of the pitch, built for hunters working out of tight ground blinds and cramped stands where a wide crossbow becomes a problem.

The whole thing ships as a complete package, so nothing else is needed beyond broadheads.

Are you a recurve holdout, or has compound crossbow performance won you over? Let us know. We always appreciate the feedback.
