Hickory Grove Home Defense: Alleged Intruder Shot Dead in East Charlotte
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) is actively conducting a homicide investigation after an alleged intruder was shot and killed during a residential breaking and entering in east Charlotte on Sunday morning, June 14, 2026. Officers arriving at the scene in the 5800 block of Hickory Grove Road discovered a single suspect dead from an apparent defensive gunshot wound.
