Lapua TRX Long-Range Ammo Now Available In U.S.
Are you looking for consistent ammunition performance at all shooting distances, even if you’re really reaching out there? As rifles, optics and (most importantly) shooter skills all improve, letting hunters target game at long range, then ammunition with accuracy and reliable expansion is also vitally important. This is what the Lapua TRX line is all about, and it’s now available in the U.S.
Lapua launched the TRX series in 2025, and some reloaders have been using their bullets since, but the factory-loaded ammo wasn’t in the U.S. until now. The idea is, the solid copper bullets with polymer tips are supposed to hold together, with excellent weight retention, and they’re also supposed to offer excellent expansion, even if the bullet’s velocity has plummeted. When Lapua first launched this series, they only had three calibers on offer. They now have five calibers of factory-loaded ammo for sale, limited to 6.5mm-diameter bullets or .30-inch diameter. There’s no 7mm option yet, no .27-inch option, and certainly no big-bore .338 or .375 or anything like that. Lapua has limited this to five choices for now
- 6.5 Creedmoor 120 Grain TRX
- 6.5 x 55 Swede 120 Grain TRX
- 308 Winchester 150 Grain TRX
- 30-06 Springfield 165 Grain TRX
- 300 Winchester Magnum 165 Grain TRX
Still, that’s a decent assortment of calibers that will cover the bases for many hunters.
Jeff Knowles, sales director at Capstone Precision Group (responsible for Lapua in the U.S. market) says the new rounds have a lot to offer for outdoorsmen:

What’s the catch?
So far, it all looks good, so what’s the catch? Catch is, we don’t know what the new ammo costs; we haven’t seen an MSRP. But we do know the new lineup is shipping to U.S. dealers now. Otherwise, if you want more info, you can check out Lapua’s website here.
