Leupold LCO Pro F2 Brings a Full-Size Carbine Red Dot
Leupold made its name on riflescopes, but the DeltaPoint Pro proved the company can build a serious red dot. Now that reputation moves to the carbine world. Leupold launched the LCO Pro F2 on July 16, a full-size red dot aimed at competitive shooters and professionals who want Leupold glass on a rifle.

The standout is the window. The LCO Pro F2 runs a large viewing area with a premium aspheric lens that delivers a distortion-free sight picture edge to edge. The housing was redesigned to recess that lens, cutting glare while opening up the field of view. True 1x magnification gives you unlimited eye relief for fast, both-eyes-open shooting, and Leupold packed in a multi-reticle system with four selectable options.
The rundown:
- 4 reticle options: 1 MOA dot, dot with compass points, 65 MOA circle-dot with compass points, or standard 65 MOA circle-dot
- 20 daylight and 10 night-vision compatible brightness settings
- Rapid Illumination Dial for on-the-fly adjustment
- Motion Sensor Technology extends battery life to roughly 30,000 hours
- Lockout Mode disables MST and prevents accidental setting changes
- Absolute co-witness at 1.5 inches
- One-piece machined US aluminum housing, waterproof, fogproof, shockproof
- Available in Matte Black or Flat Dark Earth
- MSRP: $899.99
Motion Sensor Technology sleeps the optic after five minutes and wakes it the instant the rifle moves, while Lockout Mode is the feature that keeps a preferred setting from getting bumped during transport or a hard course of fire. The FDE version carries the same specs in a flat dark earth finish.

Now the honest part. At $899.99, the LCO Pro F2 sits at the high end of the enclosed carbine red dot market, going up against optics from Aimpoint and Trijicon rather than budget dots. Leupold is betting the glass, the multi-reticle system, and the lifetime guarantee justify that number for shooters who run their optics hard.

Is Leupold’s optical reputation enough to pull you toward a $900 carbine dot, or does that price put it out of the running for you? Catch us on social and tell us. We always appreciate the feedback.
