New GORUCK Pack – THE MONSTER

GORUCK, a company deeply rooted in U.S. Army Special Operations, was founded in 2008 by Jason McCarthy, a former communications sergeant in the 10th Special Forces Group with combat experience in Iraq. Inspired by a visit to his wife, Emily McCarthy, then a CIA case officer, Jason set out to create a “go bag” to equip her for any challenge. Their mission was clear: design a rucksack with life-or-death quality standards, built to excel in environments from Baghdad to NYC. Now a globally recognized brand, GORUCK produces some of the toughest rucksacks available and hosts training events where driven individuals push their rucks and physical limits. Last week, GORUCK announced their newest Pack, THE MONSTER, and I’m just as excited for this pack as I am saddened by the story behind it.

Monster (President of GORUCK Nation) died the day after the final sample of this pack was approved—after 13 years of development (his whole life). The Pack is a tribute as he was nearby during the sign-off, then fell and couldn’t get up, he passed at home the next day surrounded by family. As a dog Parent my self, this story fills me with emotions, as there really is something special about the bond us humans share with our K9 compadres.
