New Weatherby SORIX Turkey Semi-Auto Shotgun

The spring turkey hunting season is just around the corner and Weatherby has a new offering for those who prepare to chase gobblers. The Weatherby SORIX Turkey is a new addition to their line of inertia-operated semi-auto shotguns tailored for thunder chicken hunters with features like magnum chambers, Mossy Oak Original Bottomland camo, an extended turkey choke included with the gun and a flip-up rear sight for more accurate payload delivery.

The new Weatherby SORIX Turkey shotgun is available chambered in 12 gauge with a 3 ½” chamber or 20 gauge with a 3” chamber. The shorter barrel length of 24”, which results in an overall length of 45”, is chosen for better maneuverability in tight timber and blinds. The shotgun is compatible with the CRIO Plus choke tube pattern. The front sight is a fiber optic bead and the receiver is drilled and tapped for optics mounting. The magazine capacity is two shells (plus one in the chamber).

The Weatherby SORIX Tukey also features the Weatherby Shift System, a charging handle slot cut in the left side of the receiver, allowing left-handed shooters to have a left-side charging handle. All the controls, including the safety, charging handle, and bolt release button, are oversized for easier manipulation with gloved hands, and the magazine loading port is enlarged.

The receiver, barrel and top rib are Cerakoted with the Patriot Brown color and the stock is hydro dipped. The stock has textured grip areas and a soft cheekpiece for the 12-gauge version. The overall weight of 12-gauge SORIX Turkey shotguns is 7 lbs and the smaller gauge option is, of course, slightly lighter, tipping the scales at 6.4 lbs.
