Arnold Schwarzenegger's Terminator saw the world through a red heads-up display, keeping count as it went. Now another Austrian creation wants to do something similar, only this one is a 9mm pistol from the small town of Wolfau in Burgenland. This Photo Of The Day takes a closer look at the OPOS Arms Venator in 9mm.
The OPOS Venator is a competition pistol with a rotating barrel tucked low in the frame, beneath the recoil spring. OPOS claims less muzzle rise than rival pistols, without any compensator or gas system.
Optics mount either on a stationary Shield-footprint rail that stays put during the shot, or on the slide for IPSC Production Optics. Weight is 1.22 kg, and capacity is 18+1 from Beretta 92-based magazines.
The Terminator part is the prototype OPOS Vision module, adding a live round counter, temperature monitoring and slide-velocity measurement, in full development and slated for Q1 2027.
Would you want your pistol keeping score?
