Photo Of The Day: Where winter has arrived in parts of the Northern Hemisphere, and with it comes the annual shift toward cold-weather kits and specialized camouflage. Today’s image highlights Varusteleka’s new L4 Winter Combat garments, purpose-built for operations where the landscape is nothing but snow from horizon to horizon. While traditional snow suits worn over regular gear remain perfectly functional, the L4 system aims to optimize mobility, layering, and signature reduction in harsh winter terrain. The lineup includes a Winter Combat Shirt, Pants, and Field Jacket, all produced in the EU and finished in the Finnish M05 Snow Camo pattern.
M05 Snow Camo is designed specifically for Finland’s varied winter conditions, but if you live or visit the “white” every now and then, I’m sure you will see its potential. Instead of pure white, it uses a mix of muted shapes and contrasting tones that break up the wearer’s outline against snow, ice, sparse vegetation, and shadowed terrain. The pattern is intended to remain effective whether the environment is uniformly white or marked by patches of exposed rock and timber, conditions typical in Nordic winters.
Available in sizes from Small to 2X-Large, these new L4 garments are designed to integrate into a layered clothing system, keeping the wearer mobile, insulated, and harder to detect when the landscape turns to frozen white.
