The Magpul ICAR architecture will be familiar to some AR15 users. It is an update on the older LWRC Six Eight platform, which was optimized for the 6.8 SPC caliber. Though that round fell out of favor, the magazine and receiver sets it spawned are a perfect fit for newer calibers like the 6mm ARC. This setup offers a great starting point for a build in one of the compatible calibers.
PSA showed off complete rifles using these receivers at SHOT 2026, but the parts are beating the full guns to market. The Sabre IC receivers retail for $329 in black, or $349 in an assortment of Cerakote colors. For $499 you can get a receiver set and five ICAR magazines. All models are in stock at PSA as of writing. Individual 25-round windowed ICAR mags are available in black or FDE for $37.99 each.
