RCBS brought their revitalized Weaver brand to SHOT Show 2026 with a line of Precision and Precision Tactical rings that mark a significant departure from what Weaver used to be. After securing the Weaver license from Revelyst in late 2024, RCBS is taking the 90-year-old brand upmarket with rings priced from $109.99 to $325.99; a far cry from the $30-60 budget hardware Weaver was known for.

The move makes sense when you consider RCBS's background. They've been manufacturing Weaver mounts at their Oroville, California facility since 2012, and as a company that builds precision reloading equipment requiring tight tolerances, they have the manufacturing chops to make rings that compete with premium brands. The question was whether they'd keep cranking out budget mounts or leverage their precision machining to take Weaver somewhere it's rarely ever been.

I stopped by the RCBS booth at SHOT and talked with their team about the direction they're taking Weaver. The new Precision and Precision Tactical rings are built heavier and to tighter specs than the old Weaver tactical rings. They're manufacturing these with the same attention to detail that goes into RCBS reloading dies, which means precision-machined aluminum with consistent tolerances across production runs.

The Precision line covers 1-inch, 30mm, and 34mm tube diameters with multiple height options ranging from low to extra-high. The Precision Tactical rings add features for serious use.

Weaver Precision & Precision Tactical Rings:

  • Tube Sizes: 1", 30mm, 34mm
  • Heights: Low, Medium, High, Extra-High (model-dependent)
  • Objective Lens Fitment: 40mm to 68mm (varies by height)
  • MSRP: $109.99 to $325.99

RCBS is positioning these as professional-grade rings for precision shooters, tactical users, and hunters who want reliability without stepping up to the $400+ tier. The pricing puts them competing directly with similar mid-to-upper tier rings rather than fighting in the budget hardware category where Weaver spent decades.

What we don't know yet is how RCBS's manufacturing improvements translate to real-world performance. The old Weaver tactical rings worked fine for what they cost, but precision shooters and serious tactical users typically stepped up to other brands. If RCBS can deliver rings that actually hold zero under hard use and justify the higher price point, this could give Weaver credibility it never had before.

What do you guys and gals think? Is there room in the market for Weaver as a premium brand, or will shooters stick with established names at this price point? Let us know your thoughts in the Comments below! We always appreciate your feedback.
