Shotgun Shells are Coming! Grouse, Quail, Sporting Clays & Waterfowl

Birds are migrating, the weather is cooling, and that can only mean one thing: it’s time for hunting season! No matter what type of bird hunting you do - quail, grouse, waterfowl, or sporting clay - there are new flavors of shotgun shells that are now shipping to dealers across the US.

Federal 20-Gauge Master Class - Now Shipping

Federal Ammunition recently released two new 20 Gauge loads in its Master Class shotshell line. These are meant to be competition-level sporting clay loads featuring a customized Podium wad, Federal’s straight-wall hull, reliable primers, high-antimony lead shot, and select propellants.

“Master Class gives shooters competitively priced loads with top-quality internal components needed to break the most challenging targets in sporting clays and FITASC, and it’s now available in 20-gauge,” said Federal’s Shotshell Product Line Manager Sam Oftdahl. “From the unique and attractive looks to a new shot sorting process used in its loading, this new product line is built to exceed the expectations of all Sporting Clay shooters.”

Federal Rob Roberts Raptor Steel - Now Shipping

Federal’s shotshell engineers collaborated with the experts at Rob Roberts Custom Gunworks in the fall of 2025 to design specialized Raptor Steel waterfowl loads. Now, these new loads are shipping to dealers nationwide and are ready for fall hunts.

“Rob Roberts and his team helped us develop these customized loads, which pair heavy payloads and high pellet counts with carefully selected velocities proven to put more pellets on target,” said Federal’s Shotshell Product Director, Dan Compton. “The loads combine Federal’s high-performance primers and clean-burning propellant to deliver lethal shot strings through the advanced Raptor choke design.”

Remington Royal Flush Grouse & Quail Loads - Now Shipping

The new Remington Royal Flush Grouse and Quail loads are speedy for small upland birds, and deliver excellent patterns at high velocities. The four new loads include two 12 Gauge options with a muzzle velocity of 1,300 FPS, and two 20 Gauge loads with a muzzle velocity of 1,220 FPS.
