Most of that promise rides on the MACH3D compensator, which is produced with additive manufacturing (a posh word for 3D printing) so it can port gases with what SIG Sauer calls unrivaled efficiency. The goal is a "neutral" return to zero, meaning flatter shooting, quicker follow-up shots and better control from a pistol this small.
The compensator mounts to a 3.4-inch carbon steel bull barrel, and the slide carries a Nitron finish over stainless steel, with new aggressive serrations and a SIG-LOC COMPACT optic cut.
Controls and ergonomics get attention too. A flat skeletonized trigger sits in the striker-fired action, and an extended slide release and a detachable magazine funnel come standard. The XMACRO compact grip module has a standard 1913 rail and interchangeable backstraps, and the XRAY3 Day/Night sights are fitted front and rear. Two 17-round steel magazines with high-visibility followers ship with the pistol.
Three versions are listed:
I have to say that the Coyote version is by far my favorite, with an optic, of course.
