Springfield Armory has announced a new line of pistols factory-equipped with the Aimpoint COA, starting with select variants of the Echelon 9mm platform. The new models are cut for Aimpoint’s A-CUT interface, which integrates the optic directly into the slide.
Springfield Armory @ TFB:
The design uses a front hook and rear wedge to secure the optic, shifting stress away from mounting screws and aiming to improve durability and zero retention under extended use. The low mounting position also allows co-witnessing with standard iron sights.
The COA optic features a 7075-T6 aluminum housing and a 3.5 MOA aiming dot. It is powered by a single CR2032 battery with a claimed runtime exceeding five years. The sight includes multiple brightness settings for both daylight and night vision use and is rated for submersion down to 25 meters.
At launch, the lineup includes three Echelon variants: the 4.5F full-size model with a 4.5-inch barrel, the 4.0FC hybrid configuration combining a full-size frame with a compact slide, and the 4.0C compact model with a 4-inch barrel. Depending on the model, magazine capacities range from 15 to 20 rounds.
Springfield Armory states that all three COA-equipped models will carry an MSRP of $1,119, positioning the package as a factory-integrated optics solution within the Echelon lineup.
"We are extremely proud to announce the launch of these Aimpoint COA-equipped Springfield Armory pistols," said Steve Kramer, Vice President of Marketing for Springfield Armory. "Pairing the Aimpoint COA closed-emitter optic with these dedicated A-CUT Springfield Armory pistols makes for a combination ideal for facing the most demanding situations and environments."
The 1911 & 1911 DS models are coming soon.
