Launched in 2006, the Taurus Judge quickly became the most common revolver offering the capability of firing both .45 Colt and .410 Bore shotshells. After 20 years and about as many models later, the platform gets a full update with the New Taurus Judge.

New Taurus Judge: Introduction

Here we can read Taurus’s words introducing the new model:

“The new Taurus Judge® honors the revolver that changed the game while introducing refined enhancements for today’s shooters. Because when a platform reaches this level of iconic status, you don’t replace greatness — you refine it.
Staying true to the DNA that made the original famous, the latest Judge® continues the legacy of versatility, performance, and unmistakable Taurus innovation that made it an industry leader from the very beginning.”

The New Taurus Judge design inherits an overall family feeling with the Raging Hunter product line, yet it gains a few additional upgrades.

The first obvious departure from the original Judge line is that the rear sight is no longer a gutter cut into the frame; an industry-standard dovetail holds a metal sight notch. It is a fixed sight, but adjustable for windage by sliding it in the dovetail cut. The front sight is still a post with a highly visible red fiber optic insert.

The controls are new, with a reprofiled hammer and, perhaps more importantly, a cylinder release with greater thumb purchase and an angled trigger designed for better leverage.

The revolver is currently available with either a 3” barrel or a 6.5” one. Both can be either full matte black or duo-tone, with a matte stainless frame finish, leaving barrel, cylinder, and controls in matte black.
